This is the first monograph on the work of Elmyr de Hory, one of the most notorious art forgers of the twentieth century. It includes a selection of his legendary fakes (or homages, as the artist called them) of Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Raoul Dufy, and Auguste Renoir, all of whom were practicing in Nice and the Côte d’Azur, as well as of Kees van Dongen and Amedeo Modigliani;  stills from Orson Welles’s tribute to de Hory, the docudrama F for Fake (1973); family pictures; and personal artifacts.
